ASHBURTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION HOLDS JUBILEE SHOW.

The Jubilee Show of the Ashburton Agricultural and PastoraJ Association was held at Ashburton to-day. This was the fiftieth show that the society had held. Unfortunately, the fixture was not favoured with the best of weather, and one or two showers of rain fell during the day. Despltte the threatening weather, there was a large attendance, and the Show was a highly successful one. There was an excellent display of stock, a large number of entries in the horse section being a feature of the display. The draught horses were particularly good, and the quality of the cattle and sheep was generally of a high standard. The total entries were far in excess of last year, and were not much below the record for the association’s shows. The following championships were awarded:— SHEEP. English Leicester.—Ram, J.
