INHUMAN MONSTER MURDERS FAMILY.

WIFE LOVING AND LONGSUFFERING, INQUEST SHOWS By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. Band N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, July 22. At the inquest on the Cronulla tragedy the coroner returned a verdict that the husband killed the whole family, set fire to the house and then committed suicide, in a fit of fierce insanity. The evidence adduced showed that the wife was patient and loving and the husband a cruel and inhuman monster. On July 10. at Cronulla. the home of Charles Nicholls was found to be on fire, and in it were the dead bodies of Nicholls, his wife and two sons. Nicholls was a returned soldier in an advanced stage of tuberculosis. Besides his pension he made a little from photography. He frequently complained that life was not worth living. Mystery surrounded the tragedy. It was not clear at the time whether the man or the woman was responsible for the murders or whether it was a death pact between the two.
