“ GO STRAIGHT ” IS POWERFUL DRAMA OF WELCOME KIND
SATIRE AND HUMANITY BLEND IN SECOND FEATURE AT GRAND. An intriguing drama full of strength and originality is always welcomed by picture-goers, and they will have cause for satisfaction if they go to the Grand Theatre this week. “Go Straight,” the first feature of the current programme, is a boldly conceived drama, the plot of which is carefully developed and leads on to a telling climax. The story is vigorously told, and one of its best qualities is its probability. There is a pleasant absence of the melodramatic. Briefly, the story tells of the reformation of a brilliant girl crook, but the old theme is handled in a fresh manner. The second feature is “Another Scandal,” a film adaptation of a work by Cosmo Hamilton. It is a piquant drama of modern life, and in it there is a pleasant blending of humanity and satire. Incidental music is played by the Grand Quality Orchestra.
