SCHUBERT’S STORY BEAUTIFULLY TOLD AT THEATRE ROYAL.
BEST MUSICAL PLAY FOR YEARS IS VERDICT ON “ LILAC TIME.” As a musical play, “ I-ilac Time ” stands out as one cf thq best that has been seen in the Dominion for several years. It is written around the life of Franz Schubert, the famous composer: It abounds with the music of Schubert, and is cleverly linked up. John Ralston, an actor of great ability, takes the role of Schubert, and he carries it through in a manner that is highly creditable. Adele. Crane is adorable as Lili, and scores a distinct success. Claude Flemming gives of his best as the sprightly Baron Franz von Schober, while the lighter side of the play is in the very capable hands of Arthur Stigant. There is a large supporting cast who contribute in no small measure to the success of the production. “ Lilac Time ” will be repeated to-night.
