Langbein, chairman of the No. 13 Highway-s Council, will leave for Wellington on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday- afternoon the office and field staffs of the Government Insurance Office met to bid farewell to the manager, Mr H. L. Levestam, who leaving Christchurch to take up the position of District Manager, Wellington, rendered vacant by the appointment of Mr A. E. Allison to Government Insurance- Commissioner. Various speakers expressed regret at losing Mr Levestam. Mr Levestam, who was presented with a solid leather suit case suitably inscribed, touched on the everincreasing progress of the office. This, he stated, was largely due to the close co-operation which existed between the office and the field men. He announced that the latest returns to hand showed that the new business for Canterbury this year was a record. Air Levestam will be missed in bowling circles also, as He has been for some time energetically carrying out the duties of secretary to the St. Albans Bowling Club.
