ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
The council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society met last evening. Mr 11. IT. Smith presiding over an attendance of fourteen members. The appointment of delegates to represent the society at the annual conference at Wellington was left in the hands of the president and vice-presi-dent. It was decided to forward a remit to the conference asking for the proliibitlon of the use of motor boats for retrieving game in Lake Ellesmere. It was decided that the liberations of trout ova for the 1926 season should be inade_ as follows:—Lower Selwyu River 350,000 ova; AVaimakariri River 200,000, Hurunui River 60,000. North Branch River 1000. Heathcote River 50.000, Avon (above mill) River 50.000, Avon (below mill) River 50.000, Waiau River 50,000, Ashley River 90.000. Halsw. ll River 22,000, Cam River 1000, Halt W’ater Creek 10,000, Styx River 10,000, Ohoka River 5000, Little River 50,000; total 999,000.
