RUGBY UNION JUSTICE.

To the Editor. Sir, —Kindly allow me a little space in your paper to pass criticism on the Canterbury Rugby Union's dealing with the alleged unclean football at Kaiapoi. In the report of last nights meeting, the Kaiapoi delegates stated that Heywdod had been kicked, but it was quite an accident. According to the Collegians Club captain's letter, the injured player remained unconscious for fifteen mirtutes, yet the referee says that he saw nothing of the incident. The chairman of the C.R.U. apparently is quite content to let the matter rest as an accident, just because the Kaiapoi delegates say it was. Why not ask two officials of the Collegians Club, and take their word for it. Surely the seriousness of the alleged offence warrants a little in- I quiry with a few eye-witnesses present. Mr Wilson’s idea of an inriuirv I

seems to be all wrorig, as he would have no difficulty in getting the real offender’s name. According to the Rugby Union’s idea of justice, the Collegians were not entitled to a proper inquiry simply because the referee could not see all the jflayers at once. I Would it have been just (he same had the kick proved fatal ?--Yours, etc.. “SiTAtt” REA DEW.
