CYCLING DATES.
To the Editor. Sir, —Having recently become keenly interested in the healthy sport of cycling, I felt somewhat indignant at the anonymous attacks made upon Air Walter and other officials. Mv impression is that cycling is very fortunate at having such a busy and publicspirited gentleman to take a keen and active interest in the sport. The arguments against holding the Timaru race earlier seem insurmountable. Instead of writing so much personal abuse it wo,uld be of more interest if your correspondents suggested ways and mesjps for altering the date. Why not discuss the matter in a friendly way, giving due respect to the views of others?—l am, etc., JAMES R. DEYEREUX.
