A surprise party organised by Mrs Bunting and Mrs M’Elwain, recently visited the home of Mrs Barnett, Medbury. An enjoyable evening was spent in music, recitations, games and dancing. The music for the dancing was supplied by Misses Dalzell (2) and Mr Brooker. Mandolin selections were given by Mr M’Elwain and recitations by Mr Bunting, Masters M. Bunting and K. Toshach. Those present were: —Mesdames Barnett, Bunting, M’Elwain, Brooker, Scott, Misses Barnett, Quartermain, Butler (2). Dalzell (2) and Stancombe, Messrs Bunting, M’Elwain, Brooker, Scott. Gray. Honeybone, Dalaell, Robertson and, many others.
The Christchurch branch of the National Council of Women, have issued in\’itaiions for a Conversazione to be held in the Jellicoe Hall on Tuesday, July 20. The speakers will be Mrs T. E. Taylor and Mr Donald Grant, and readings will be given by Mrs GoreNewell.
