ELECTRIC POWER FOR BAY OF PLENTY.
RATEPAYERS CARRY BIG LOAN PROPOSAL. Per Press Association. OPOTIKI July 5. A poll of the ratepayers in the Bay of Plenty power district, comprising Opotiki Borough, Whakatane County and Opotiki County, was held on Saturday on a proposal to borrow £170,000 for a .hydro-electric scheme, the power to be obtained from Arapuni. The proposal was carried by 437 votes to 137.
