MAYOR’S STANDING AT HOSPITAL COMMITTEES.

To the Editor. Sir, —As the published statement made by the Rev J. K. Archer at the ; board meeting yesterday, “ that he had , gone to the committee one day and I was very politely informed that he had no right to be there,” may create a . wrong impression, I wish to state that I the only time that Mr Archer was told that he could not take part in the discussions or vote at a committee meeting was when he attended a committee meeting of which he was not an appointed member, and was taking part in the proceedings, but those proceedings were not in connection with the matter under discussion yesterday. Any member of the board can attend any committee meeting, and with the t chairman’s consent any outside member can make an observation or statement, or bring any other matter coni cerning the board’s affairs before the ; committee, and Mr Archer has never Ibeen refused those privileges.—Yours, etc., HENRY H. HOLLAND.
