DRESSING ROOMS ARE WANTED AT BECKENHAM PARK.

BURGESSES WILL TAKE ACTION, j There was a. fair attendance at the annual meeting of the Beckenham Burgesses' Association last evening. when Mr A. C. Maxwell presided. Matters vitally connected with the welfare of the district had been dealt with during the year, stated the annual report. The attendances at the monthly meetings had been small, and it was hoped that during the coming, year a greater number of members would take an active part in the association. Excellent work had been done by the subcommittees in regard to the streets, park and H,ie lighting of the district: In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman said that until the resitJiemselves the City Council would not assist them to erect a band rotunda in the park. The matter had been taken up. and ho hoped that the work would be gone on with during the comingyear. “Another matter, even more important, is that of the necessity of providing dressing accommodation in the park for the use of sports clubs, particularly the footballers,’’ added the chairman. lie urged that the matter should be taken up again this year. The report was adopted. A deficit of 3s Id was disclosed in the balance-sheet, which was adopted. The election of officers resulted:— President. Mr A. C. Maxwell: vice-presi-dent. Mr H. Clark: secretary and treasurer. Mr J. A. Ayers; canvassing committee. Messrs IT. Morris. F. Cainey, Turner and J. Cox: delegates to the United Burgesses’ Association, Messrs C. Fulford and S. M’Alister. It was decided to hold the monthly meetings of the association on the first Wednesday of the month in the school in future, instead of in the bowling green pavilion as previously. A letter was received from the St Martins Residents’ Association asking that a. member be appointed to take part in a deputation to the superintendent of the police asking for n resident constable for the two districts. The chairman was appointed to take part, in the deputation.
