“PINAFORE” FOR LISTENERS-IN.
3 LO, MELBOURNE WILL BROADCAST TO.MORROW NIGHT. 3LO Melbourne, by permission of J. C. Williamson. Lt<l.. have made arrangements with Mr R. D’Oyly Carte, of London, to broadcast the second act of “H.M.S. Pinafore” to-morrow night (Thursday) at 9.50 p.m. (11.20 p.m. New Zealand time). The Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company is at present appearing at His Majesty’s Theatre, and the cast for “Pinafore” includes Charles Walenn, Sydney Granville, Strella Wilson, James Hay (who is well remembered in Christchurch), Bernard Manning. Lance Fairfax. Dallas Murton, Mabel Gibson and Winifred Williamson.
