MANY POLITICIANS ARRESTED FOR PLOTTING.

Arrests in connection with the plot against) Mustapha Kemal Pasha include many deputies of the Progressive Part}*, and a well-known General, Refet Pasha. The local press claims that the arrests prove that the whole party is implicated in a counter-revolutionary movement. There is no evidence that the plot involved the restoration of the Sultanate. Mustapha .ICeinal Pasha, addressing a Smyrna delegation, said:—Our own death would be no cause for the nation to abandon Republican progress. Practically all the Opposition deputies have been arrested.
