Roos, Minister of Justice, assured a Labour deputation that he was prepared to accept the National Labour Council’s suggestion that the Union Jack and South African flag have full equality and be flown side by side. He believes that this solution will be acceptable to the Transvaal and Free State Nationalists, but it remains to be seen whether it will bar acceptable to the South African Party.
