The milk scandal investigations, which are being continued daily, disclose the grossest form of corruption, and to-day gained wider ramification with the announcement by Health Commissioner Harris that three food inspectors have been suspended upon the disclosure that the butter supply was badly adulterated, from 25 to 50 per cent, all samples taken showing either the presence of 40 per cent more water or the presence of foreign fats. This adulteration was accomplished with the connivance of the health inspectors. Many convictions for' bribery have already occurred, particularly that of the secretary to the previous Health Commissioner.
