GOVERNMENT WILL NOT MAKE DIFFICULTIES. Per Ptms Association. WELLINGTON, June 22. A deputation representing the Wei lington Chamber of Commerce, the Merchants’ Association, and the Master Carriers’ Association waited on the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K 8. Williams, to-day, to ask for a modification of the heavy* motor traffic togulations requiring a return of distances 1 ravelled by lorries in the various townships traversed. Speakers pointed out that such returns involved additional clerical work and details were not easilv available They suggested alternative methods by assessmeat.
The Minister said .he would see it something could be done. Neither he nor the Government wished to impose unjust regulations upon anybodv.
