In the House of Commons Mr Arthur Henderson asked for an explanation of the refusal to admit M. Oudegeest, secretary of the Internationa] Federation of .Trade Unions, and M. Pimmins, secretary of the International Transport Workers’ Federation, who desired to attend the International Labour Conference on Emigration in London. Sir W. Joynson Hicks replied that during the recent illegal strike information had reached him that M. Oudegeest and M. Pimmins were arranging to hold up British ships at foreign ports. Mr Henderson asked whether this was a new form of reprisal against bona fide trade unionists carrying out their duty.
