Following the West Ham Guardians' refusal to abate the scale of relief for the unemployed, amounting to 55s for a man, his wife and family of six. Mr Neville Chamberlain, states the “DailyMail,” has issued an ultimatum to the Guardians refusing further loans and threatening to supersede the Guardians whpn the existing funds are exhausted. It is pointed out that the Guardians are bankrupt. They owe the Ministry of Health £1,970.000, besides a bank overdraft of £390,000.
