BABY BURNED WHILE IN BED.
NURSE DID NOT SEE HOT WATER BOTTLE. Per Press Association. TAURANGA, June 22. Allen Graham Rawlings, aged ten weeks, died in hospital here from shock following burns on the thigh from a hot water bottle. Th§ mother is a patient in the hospital. A sister took the baby from the mother and put him to bed. The sister did not notice the hot water bottle, which was placed there by a probationer. The baby cried in the night. The sister stated that the baby* was healthy. She attached no importance to the cries. The sister was alone on duty and extremely busy. She discovered the baby' in a low condition, and it died in her arms.
