COOK ISLAND FRUIT TRADE UNSATISFACTORY.

The unsatisfactory state of the Cook Island fruit trade was brought under the notice of Sir Kfaui Pomare by a strong deputation of Auckland 'importers who stated that the Ngakuta was a most unsatisfactory boat, and that if something were not done the fruit trade would have to cease. A better grade of fruit was necessary. The deputation thought that Auckland could order about 16.000 cases a month, and Wellington and the South Island 12.000 a month.
