The annual home missionary meeting was held at the Sefton Methodist Church on Tuesday evening, the Rev W. B. Cuming presiding over a small attendance. The speaker was the Rev T. Thomas, of Hawarden, who contrasted the conditions obtaining a century ago amongst the Maoris, and their present day condition. A collection was taken up on behalf of the society, and a vote of thanks was passed to the speaker. Mr A. A. Smith, of New York, predicts that five years hence bobbed hair will be a thing of the past. Mr Smith is a manufacturer of hairpins.
