FIVE STOWAWAYS FOUND IN STEAMER.
Per Pres* Association. AUCKLAND. June 2. The Canadian Explorer, bound for New York, put back last night and landed five stowaways, all natives of Great Britain. In the Police Court to-day, two of them were sentenced to fourteen days’ hard labour, three to seven days’ hard labour. One of them, Albert George Larcen. was also sentenced to three months’ hard labour, for converting to his own use another man’s motorcar, as well as to two months for breach of his probation, the sentences to be cumulative.
