BRITAIN’S RISK HELD TOO GREAT.
LONDON COMMERCIAL MEN COMPLAIN OF ATTITUDE TO SOVIET. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. “ Sydney Sun ” Cable. (Received Mav 24, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 23. The London Chamber of Commerce in a letter to the Foreign Secretary relative to the Government not passing legislation to prevent the Soviet sale of confiscated British property on the grounds that it would destroy* AngloSoviet trade, points out that the Russian Trade Agreement is more valuable to Russia than to Britain. The risk of losing her small Soviet trade is not commensurate with the importance of demonstrating that Britain stands for the sanctity of the contract and does not acquiesce in spoilation.
