KING TO TALK BY RADIOPHONE TO COOLIDGE.

TRANS-ATLANTIC CONVERSATION LIKELY.

By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Reuter’s Telegrams. NEW YORK, May 3. A radio telephone conversation between King George and President Coolidge is being arranged, says the “World.” The paper states that after arrangements are completed it will be simply necessary for King George to pick up his telephone at one of his Royal Palaces in order to talk to President Coolidge at his own instrument in White House, Washington. EARLIER TESTS. A message on March 9, said: Through the co-operation of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, the Radio Corporation of America and the British General Post Office, the United Press to-day conducted the first twoi-way transatlantic wireless telephone tests, conversing with various journalists in London. Auditors declared that the transmission was perfect and conversers declared that they were able to hear better than over the ordinary city telephones. Officials believe that commercial wireless telephony is one step nearer. The tests were conducted at 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. New York time. The subjects of conversations were the recent collapse in Wall Street and prohibition.
