FOOTPATH CYCLING AT RICCARTON.
To the Editor. Siri~M a y I draw the attention of the Mayor and councillors to the number of cyclists who are being permitted to use the footpaths on the Main Riccarton road at all hours of the dav. In addition to breaking the Borough by-laws, they are a source of great danger to little children. The council should naturally see to it that the majority of the citizens are protected by the enforcement of the laws it makes, and its attention to such a matter as this should not need to be drawn by an outsider. I am told that there is a policeman in the district, but it would seem as it he must have gone into “winter quarters.” Trusting this great annoyance will be attended to, —I am, etc., RATEPAYER.
