The programme of matches for the Selection of the New Zealand Rugby Dengue football team leaving for England on July 24 was fixed by the New Zealand Rugby Dengue Council this evening as follows:j t ,ne 3— -Canterbury v. July 10—Final selection, A and B teams, at Auckland. There was a large attendance at a meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Plunket Society this afternoon, over which Mrs J. F Laing presided. In connection with the compilation of the cookery book, it was reported that £SO had been promised in advertisements and donations. Concerning the payment of the remaining debt on the Plunket car, it was decided to withdraw the list from the newspaper aud make a special effort to raise a large sum in September next. The central council advised that the Government had issued regulations exempting from licensing fees, as from April 1, nny motor vehicles used solely by the Plunket Society.
