LATE PERSONAL.

Mr Justice Adams will leave Christchurch for Timaru on Saturday. Mr C..S. Thomas went south by the first express this morning. Messrs F. W. Butcher (Auckland) and F. Usher (London) are staying at Warner’s Hotel.

Messrs C. J. Rundel (Greymouth), A. C. Mitchell and W.. Lees (Wellington) arc recent arrivals at the United Service Hotel.

Mr G. A. Ilolmes, M.Sc., B.Ag., has been appointed agricultural master at St Andrew’s College. Mr Holmes has had a brilliant scholastic record, having been dux of Otago Boys’ High School and a University Entrance Scholar. At Otago University he gra-, duated with honours in chemistry, where he was also assistant lecturer in that subject. After practical experience in farming, Mr Holmes entered Lincoln College and gained his B.Ag. degree, being gold medallist of his year. Coming from the Ruakura State Farm, Mr Ilolmes commences duties at St Andrew’s at the end of May.
