TO GET DOUBLE TIME FOR EARLY MORNING.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 38 The Dominion Engineers’ Award provides that work done between a.m. and the ordinary starting time shall be paid at time and a half, but no earlier start is provided for. Test questions relating to men who started at I a.m. and 5 a.m. and work ed on through the day were put before the Court for fixing a rate for such cases.
Mr Justice Frazer fixed the rate at double time up to the ordinary commencing time, and thereafter ordinary rates.
