CANADA MAY CONDUCT BEAM WIRELESS TEST WITHIN FORTNIGHT.

By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. MONTREAL, April 26. Work is being rushed on at the wireless beam station in Canada to such an extent that the officials in charge of the work now believe they will be able to conduct the first test with England in a fortnight and possibly with Australia in five weeks' time. The officials intimate that the Australian test also depends on how soon the Australian station is ready. The transmitter apparatus for the English test arrived last week and is being installed at Drummondville, while the receiving apparatus is on its way and is expected to arrive this week. It will immediately be installed at Varnachische.

Officials indicate that no attempt will be made to carry out the Australian tests until the English trials prove successful. In this lies their greatest confidence. -
