SUMNER DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL JUBILEE.

Mr G. A. Alexander presided over a meeting of the Jubilee Committee of the Sumner District lligh*School. The sub committee reported that the following would assist at the thanksgiving service on Sundav afternoon: Rev E. C. W. Powell, Rev W. M’Ara and Rev G. R. Peterson. The conversazione committee reported that all old scholars were expected to attend: that Misses Millicent Jennings. B. Browne, N. Bowden, E. Whitfield and Messrs T. Charters and 11. Hobbs had promised to assist and that the birthday cake would be cut by the oldest scholar present. Arrangements had been made by an old scholar for the Exhibition closing rspeeches to be heard by wireless. The decorations committee of . old

scholars reported that novelties were being arranged for in the Town Hall scheme. It was decided to have the jubilee cake on view in Mr Buchanan’s window. The sports committee reported that a fine programme would be ready for Saturday, and that permission had been granted for a collection to be taken at the gate.
