SALONIKA ELECTS A COMMUNIST.
POSITION CAUSES CABINET ANXIETY. By Telegraph.-—Pres'n Assn.—Copyright. Reuter's Telegrams. ('Received December 26, 10.40 a.m.) ATHENS, December 25. A meeting of Cabinet discussed the result of the municipal elections at Salonika, where M. Patrikios was elected Mayor, although the Government annulled his previous election on the ground that he was a Communist. Cabinet resolved to coinbat Communism and decided, in view of the alleged electoral indifference of the public, that voting should be compulsory in future.
