BIG VALUATION REDUCTIONS. Per Press Association. H AWE PA, June 25. A suggestion that the best (arming lands in South Taranaki were over valued by as much as one third is contained in substantial reductions admitted by Government officers who recentlv rn. de a special revaluation of foui blocks near Normanby. comprising some of the rich lands in the Hawera county and aggregating nearly 1000 acres. The average reduction granted on the present unimproved value was over 34 per cent. When the last valuation was made in 1910 the total unimproved value on the 953 acres under notice was £51.595. The new figures set it down at £33,667.
