That the Labour Party is not yoo ]’it to Govern New Zealand ' ’ was the subject of o debate in the social room of the Trades Hall last night. r J ho affirmative was taken by -Hr AT. Jv T.vt.uis (leader), Mr IT. J. Perkins and Mr J. Bradley. for tlie W.L.A.: the negative was taken by Mr C. A. Bloomfield (leader). ATr It. Macfarlano anti !Mr I/. Jtfford. for the Labour Social Club. Mr IT. M‘Caw presided, and -Mr IT. M. Lning was judge. Mr Laing said that Mr Lyons was mum better than all the other speakers; ho had an easy platform manner, a humorous delivery, and a slow, wellmodulated voice. Air Kfford was the best speaker on the other side. The. MM3.A. case was debated better than the Labour case. The marks awarded were: W.E.A. 24G, Labour 217.
