THE TWO NOEL NEWTONS.
An announcement that a man named Montague Noel Newton had been shot dead in a taxicab in London gave rise to a misunderstanding at Home recently. Mr Montague Noel Newton, the witness in the “Air A case, had to spend some time in assuring friends that he was alive. The dead man was identified as Captain Frank Noel Montague Newton, a member of St Stephen's Club, Westminster, who had served in the Indian Army during the war. Captain Newton, a man of fifty, wearing a monocle, was driven in a taxicab from his club to a hotel in Jlarpur Street. When the door of the cab was opened, it was found that he had been shot through the head. A revolver lay at his feet. It is stated that he suffered from severe headaches.
