HOLD-UP FEARED.
SHIPPING TROUBLE.
SYDNEY TO BE THE STORM CENTRE. By Telegraph.—rrcss Assn.—Copyright. Aus. & N.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 20, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 20. 1 A crisis in the shipping trouble is expected towards the end of July or early in August when the articles of practically all the vessels plying between Australian ports will have expired. The crews of over 60 per. cent, of the steamers will sign on and off at Sydney, which is expected to be the storm centre. The Commonwealth line will probably be drawn into the dispute on Monday, when the Esperance Bay arriv-s. Iler articles expire on Tuesday. It appears certain that the crew will demand insertion of certain clauses in the new agreement. The seamen have offered to modify the original clause to which objec-
tion was taken by the owners, who. however," have definitely refused to agree to the new proposal. The new clause asked that wages and general working conditions, which were in operation on" June 4, .1925, should *be applicable to all members of the union employed on vessels .
