After being marooned for three months on Nassau, a lonely island in the Pacific, castaways from the auxiliary schooner Samoa, owned by the Burns, Philp South Sea Company, were discovered by the American yacht Goodwill, whose owner wirelessed the news to Apia. It is reported that the Samoa is a total wreck. The schooner was lost on April 29. The passengers and crew are safe.. The Lady Roberts has sailed from Apia to rescue the castaways. The Samoa was built at Whangaroa in 1902.
