TRAMS V. BUSES.
WELLINGTON WARFARE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. June 19. The Mayor ‘Mr Norwood) was asked at the. City Council meeting last night if tram fares would be reduced to meet ’bus competition. The Mayor replied that he would make a statement in committee. The council subsequentlv adopted the By-laws Committees’ recommendation that a by-law be prepared on the lines of the Victorian Government regulation governing the control and inspection of motor buses. The by-law will r prohibit 'buses running in certain por- ■ lions ol' the city.
