“BRING AND BUY.”

WOMEN GRADUATES’ FUNCTION. The Women Graduates’ Association held a very successful “Bring and Buy” sale in the College Hall on l Saturday evening. The object of the 1 unction was Do raise funds to help in the renovation of Crosby Hall, a magnificent building in England, which is to be used as a women's hostel for students Judging by the business that was being done at the various stalls, the funds for this object must have been swelled to a considerable extent. Miss Gresson, president of the Women Graduates’ Association, in a lew preliminary remarks said that the cause was a very deserving one, that oj helping fellow-students in other countries, and, moreover, it would be invaluable to women students from the Dominion who wished to study at Home. She explained what was proposed in reference to Crosby Hall, and hoped that all would give their support to the effort. Mrs C. Chilton, in formaTlv opening the sale, said that the work was of an international character, in that it helped to unite the bonds of fellowship among the women students of the Empire. Moreover, it was good for the association itself, as it gave that body something of imoortance in which it could interest itself. The stallholders were Produce. Misses A. Candy find lx. Gresson ; variety. Mrs R. W. Best; sweets, Mrs 8. Steele; cakes, Miss E. A. Chaplin. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Dr. H. Richmond and Misses W. Clark. 1. Milnes and K. Turner. During the evening items were contributed bv Mrs E. J. Chennell* (solos) and Mrs. M. Gresson (pianoforte solo). Marston’s Jazz Band supplied the music for the dancing.
