The “ Dailv Telegraph,” dealing with the subject of broadcasting, buys: "It is officially known that there are 25,031 listening-in radio s ets in New South* Wales. Unofficially, itis conservatively estimated that the number actually exceeds 100,OCX). Accordingly tlierc, are at least 75,000 lawbreakers. Meanwhile the radio trading business is slumping badly and broadcasting appears at a dead end so far as developments are concerned. Generally the position is as unsatisfactory a jS it could be. The “ Telegraph ”.deals with various causes contributing towards the alleged evasions, including the objection to pay such a high license fee as 35s yearly, and the contention by cfhers that the Government has no legal right under the present law t> levy a fee. The paper urges the pressing need of reconsideration of the whole question in order to end the present unsatisfactory condition ot affairs.
