WELCOME TO MISS E. LAW. The president and Board of Directors of the Young Women s Christian Association entertained Ethel La*, M.A.. vesterday afternoon, at an ©njovabio" “ at home” giv-n in the club hall of the Y.W.C.A. -v iss Law who is the general secretary of the Christchurch association, lias quite recently returned from America, where she intended the World’s Conference in New The hall, which was most beautifully decorated with rosea and sweet peas, was well filled with people who are interested in the Y.W.C.A. work, and who were pleased to welcome home the guest of honour. ’ Afternoon tea was served, and Mrs George Bowron. who is president of the hoard, introduced Miss Law, and welcomed her back to Christchurch, where she is so well known for her splendid services. Mr Carey, on behalf of the advisory board, also welcomed Miss Law. Miss Law thanked all those present for their kind words of welcome, and gave a short address on her varied experiences abroad. She spoke of the interest she had felt at the conference, at which almost every country in the world was represented, and how excellently the women carried out their work. Miss Law was also present at the conference at Vassar. Among the many present were:
