IMPRISONMENT IMPOSED. Pf.r Press Association. DUNEDIN, September 29. In the Police Court to-day Walter Fraser Sheriff Hameiss was given sentences totalling six months on charges of drunkenness while in charge of a. motor car, unlawfully converting a car to his own use, and damaging a. car. The police evidence showed that a car was commandeered by the accused at the top of Dowling Street and driven down the hill at fifty miles an hour. It crashed into a building. It was mentioned that during the past few weeks five motors had been commandeered in an identical way.
