A NEW TACK IN TAXES.
BY SINBAD. Some wise old birds have done their job. concerning those who earn or rob enough to (sport a wellfed smirk, and in the House have lobbed their work. But land and income tax with me calls forth no joke, nor wit, nor glee; the bitter subject makes me mad. but this is what would make me glad : A tax on letters to the Press, on eating nuts and sleeping less; on those who throw a pious fit when punters risk their little hit : a super-tax from Premier Bill on platitudes that make us ill : airother on his * ‘peaceful”' men who want two parties back again ; a penny each on those who roared when Addington o’er Marists scored; a fiver or a month in goal on all who bellow, squeal, or wail of Shean and Gallagher. Georgette, Bananas, or “Gan Aou forget? r think if we could do all this Xoo Zee would be a land oi bliss. No “land and income” on our backs —we wouldn’t need another tn x.
