BIG MUNICIPAL UNDERTAKING. From Our Correspondent TALMA HI NUT, March 21. Hydro-electrical works, erected by the Borough Council at a cost of £521,000, were officially declared open by the Prime Minister this afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of tonwspeople The installation at Piriaka. about live miles from Taumanmui, is said to be the second of the kind erected in the Dominion. The power generated will be sufficient to supply the town and the district for many miles around. Power is obtained from t-he Wanganui River.
