UNDESIRABLES.
FARMERS* UNION PROTEST. (Special to the “Star.”) BLENHEIM, March 21. The practice of the magisterial bench of ordering undesirable persons arrested in the towns to go into the country was strongly condemned at this after noon’s meeting of the provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, and a resolution was passed at the instance of the Seddon branch objecting to the practice on account of the isolation of most country homes and th& poor protection usually afforded by the police, who were stated to have such large areas to control that they could not offer adequate safeguards against undesirables.
