George Hill left here yesterday for Wellington with the trotter Blair Audubon, which is engaged in the Electric Handicap to-morrow. This gelding has been responsible for some good work recently and should go well in his engagements at W ellington and Manawatu. Lord Haldane was to have accompanied him on his trip, but the son of Good Gift' stood on a board in which was a nail on Sunday and punctured his foot. This was verv bad luck, as Lord ITaldane had been doing exceptionally good work and appeared sure to win races on the trip. He- may be able to start at the Wanganui meeting. The track here is in capital order, and if the weather is favourable should her fast for the forthcoming meeting Tt is said that there is a probability of Marqueteur, Halgina and Lady Beptinck being sent north for the Takapuna meeting, instead of going to Trenthani. Motley is in work again. She will be taken to Wellington, leaving here next Friday, when Civility and Siasi will also go down. Khartoum has been taken up again with a view' to being got ready for the steeplechase season. TAKAPUNA SCRATCHINGS. Pkr Press Association*. AUCKLAND, January 11.
