METAL WORKERS ON STRIKE. DANGER OF TROUBLE SPREADING. By Telegraph—Proas Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 11, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON. January 10. The Berlin correspondent of “ The Times ’ ’ says that the strike of metal workers at Dusseldorf is spreading to other trades. There is a danger of a general stoppage, which, according to the pronouncements of the strike lead ers. would he ruthlessly applied and may shortly be declared. The strikers inarched the streets, calling on other workers to come out. There were no violent disturbances, because the tradesmen closed their shops as a precautionary measure. Communist agitators are energetically scheming to create a general upheaval. Work has ceased at the Crefeld textile factories and cotton mills. The “ Crefelder Zeitung ” declares that syndicalists from other parts of the Ruhr compelled workers to leave unde, threats.
