LATE ACCEPTANCES DANNEVIRKE. Pkr Pt.tsb Association. DANNEVIRKE, December S. Late acceptances.—Big Chief in the Maiden Handicap and Ruahine in the Welter Handicap. In the Tiratu Juvenile Handicap, Swallow Flight should read Silver Shadow. WANGANUI NOTES. (Special to the “Star.”) WANGANUI, December 8. Civility returned home yesterday looking none the worse for her recent racing. The Elysian filly paid a dividend in each of her four last starts, running second twice- and scoring two. wins. She will be given a let up for a few* days, which should freshen her up again for the Manawatu meeting. This'-morning Motley and Y’eil cantered round to the half mile post and then hopped off, the former having a shade better of it. She soon opened up the gap, but was steadied, and finished half a length ahead. She will be taken north early in the week after next. Battle Song and Explorer were sent round the reverse way, finishing the last five furlongs at a fast pace, Explorer going particularly well. They will go north on Wednesday week. F. Tilley leaves about the same time with half a dozen comprising Enthusiasm,-. Para, Demand, Tukia, Inferno and Shining Armour. It is said that Enthusiasm has been doing good work lecently and she is expected to be at her best at Ellerslie. Tukia and Inferno have also gone on the right way since returning from Riccarton. Malingerer bears a bright appearance and moved nicely in covering two rounds on the plough this morning. He is engaged at Woodville on Wednesday. Alaric is being given a few days' spell off the track, which should freshen him up for the Manawatu meeting. Crucelle does not visit the track very often, but she is being given a lot of swimming. Hopes are entertained of getting her to the post fairly fit for the Grandstand Handicap at Awapuni. Neata is regarded as the pick of the handicap in the Manawatu Chip. On Feilding form he should be at his very best on Boxing Day.
