STRAND THEATRE.
“ Forsaking All Others." an all-star attraction headed, by June Elvidge/ Colleen Moore and Cullen Landis, commences at the Strand to-day. It deals with the life of one Oliver Newell, who has been reared under the .shelter of a jealous mother lore. The mother believing she cannot share the love of her soil with any other woman, takes him to ft fashionableTesort to get him away from Penelope. , Here. Oliver becomes infatuated with Enid Morton, a married matron, who amuses hors e* by flirting with him. Her suspicious husband enters his apartment unexpectedly and there is a tense scene with Enid in the room and Oliver bidden in an annexe. Now the frantic mother, aware of the terrible situation, appeals to Penelope for help. Even though Oliver has thrown her over. Penelope nobly responds to the mother’s appeal, and races to the resort. The final scenes in this stirring, drama take place in a lonely cabin
and form a fitting close to the picture. “ Putting It Over.” starring Dick Talmadge, the second attraction, is asfcory of small-town politics. Richard Talmadge as Bob Merritt, the wayward son of James Merritt, a .State political power, is given his thirteenth chance to make good, the chance being the* job of going to Carterville and defeating Arnold Norton in the coining election for mayor. How he makes good, but not the way his father wishes, makes an interesting and dramatic story. Supports include “Oregon Trail ” 'Chapter 4). “ Fresh Kid," a Johnnie Pox comedy, and Inter national News.
