Wellington baa received the following cablegram, dated 4th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— WOOL. The sales opened yesterday (Monday) with large attendance of Home and Continental buyers. Competition was strong, especially for cross-bred. Compared with merino are little changed, on average par vaneed: fine cross-bred 5 per cent and medium and coarse cross-bred 7£ per cent to 10 per cant,
